Position Overview: As a Workshop Technician, you will play a key role in preparing boats for handover to customers, conducting GRP repairs, fitting to customer specifications and refurbishing pre-owned boats. Heavy lifting is sometimes necessary as we load and pack shipping containers of sailing boats and accessories. Your flexibility and positive, customer-focused attitude will contribute to building strong business relationships and boosting our overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of new boats to customer specifications.
- Detailed refurbishment of pre-owned boats.
- Gelcoat repairs.
- Rope work & rigging.
- Packaging and labelling products before dispatch.
- Assisting in shipping over 1500 boats annually.
- Unloading/loading of lorries.
Essential Skills:
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Reliability and flexibility.
- Efficient work ethic without constant supervision.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic paperwork completion abilities.
- Knowledge of small sailing craft.
- Willing to learn new skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Forklift truck experience.
- Experience in GRP repairs.
- Splicing & rigging expertise.
